Ron and Susie Gannett moved to SaddleBrooke in March of 2011 to become the Lead Pastor of Community Church. He was as surprised as anyone that God would take him to Arizona to extend his career. Hailing from Alabama and spending most of his career in Canada, he is delighted to invest these years helping people finish well.

The two lovebirds met at Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham and were married in May 1970. The Gannett’s enjoy four children and nine grandchildren spread out in Calgary, Toronto, Pittsburg and Birmingham. During the summers, you can find them nestled away in their northern Ontario cottage that is a magnet for the family.

Ron received his Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and Doctor of Ministries from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He was later graced with an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Briercrest College and Seminary. His ordination took place in 1975 and has been involved in pastoring churches for forty years. He spent most of his career (21 years) in Burlington, Ontario, shepherding the good folks of Park Bible Church.

While in Canada, Ron served on the general council of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and the boards of Camino Global, Back to the Bible and Heritage College and Seminary. While serving as pastor at Park, he was elected as moderator of the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada.

Ron is the author of The Jesus Passages: Exploring the Words of Jesus through Journaling. The book comes in a journal format and is designed to help people interact with the words of our Lord himself. In addition, he sponsors websites which help people grow in their faith: and Don’t be surprised if you see more publications coming from the Gannett’s.

Susie enriches Ron’s ministry with her teaching and outreach to women. She is a gifted student and communicator of the Scriptures and is often called upon to speak at retreats and conferences. Between the two of them, they have ministered in such diverse places as Central and South America, Mexico, Indonesia, China, Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Romania, Kazakhstan, Germany and much more.

The Gannett’s have a passion to equip others to know and serve the Lord. They feel that this adds an exponential element to their ministry as it releases people to help their family and friends. That is why they love the SaddleBrooke community, which creates an environment to meet and help people. They are here to serve you, so feel free to call anytime to discover that you have some friends who care and want to help you fulfill your dreams.

Ron and his wife Carol moved to Saddlebrooke in 1999 and joined Community Church that same year. After just a few weeks he decided to join the choir and has been involved ever since.

Ron started the karaoke sing a long at HOA 1 in 2004 and continues to be a lively, fun and well attended event even today. He has also been active in the Saddlebrooke Variety shows for many years. A few years ago, Ron was offered the opportunity to perform his very own variety show occasionally in the Mountain View Bistro. Ron continues to be a popular talent with a loyal following. Come and enjoy one of his floor shows sometime. You will have a wonderful time.

Ron took over leadership of the Community Church Choir on a temporary basis in early 2014. He recently accepted the full-time position and is continually looking for any and all that enjoy singing, to join the Celebration Singers. I was born in Beeville, Texas and moved around with my parents to oil field locations for many years. I graduated from Bowie High School in 1955 and then went to Texas Tech for a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Upon graduation I entered the USAF and went first to Officers’

While at TRW Inc I met Dolores and we’ve been married 42 years. My church background in Texas was with the Baptist Church…I was baptized in a stock tank behind the church in Newport. I’ve had later church involvement with Methodist and Lutheran congregations. Dolores and I joined the
Community Church in 2008 (or so) and I’ve enjoyed
participating in Men’s Empowerment and supporting The Salvation Army as Missions Board Liaison and ringing the bell for the annual Red Kettle Drive.

My childhood was spent in Nebraska where my father and mother owned Ford Car Dealerships in small farming communities. I spent my non-school time working in the family garage. I graduated from Hebron High School and went on to college at Nebraska Wesleyan University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in history and religion. I was accepted at two divinity schools, but the Vietnam War changed all of that. I went on and enlisted in the US Navy and became an electronics technician serving on the flight deck of the USS Kitty Hawk and Ranger. When I was discharged from the Navy, jobs were hard to find. I became a correctional officer at the Nebraska Penal Complex, and then went on as a tax collector for the state of Nebraska. While I was in government service, I pursued a Master’s degree in Public Administration. My plans were to continue in government or politics. In the meantime, since I was working on my masters, I had the opportunity to apply for a management position with the Union Pacific. I was accepted in the operating department. I attended the many training schools the railroad had to offer for officers, which include locomotive engineer, dispatching, signaling, track repair, and safety training. During my thirty years of railroading. I have worked for two railroads, twenty four years with the Union Pacific and six years with the CSX railroads. My last six years I was a professional witness with the Union Pacific.

I have been a member of CCSB for approximately eight years. Currently, I am an usher and am serving on the Missions Committee.

First and foremost, I believe that Jesus Christ is our savior which is the reason that at one time, I had intentions of going into the ministry. As far as my other religious experience, I grew up as an Episcopalian and then went on to become a Presbyterian, being a member of several different churches in cities in which we lived.

I have been responsible for managing large budgets, large operating territories, and large numbers of employees. I have had experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

If elected, I will base all of my decisions and actions on what I feel is best for CCSB.
